The Media Camp organized within the framework of the World2you project, held in cooperation with journalists from Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and Tajikistan, was launched in Almaty.
The training started with an interactive session on “Disinformation in the new global media space: new challenges for local mass media” by Uzbek media expert, trainer Beruniy Alimov.
He talked about how today’s media environment is deteriorating as a result of fake news, factoids, disinformation, and how these processes pose a threat to quality journalism. The knowledge and skills learned on the basis of various cases and examples were strengthened.
In the session held in an interactive format, the participants engaged in a heated discussion about each concept and process and expressed their opinions.
The training is conducted with the help of the Eurasian Foundation and USAID, in cooperation with the Business-Psychology-Media Association and the New Media Education Center.
